so hot!

I have really wanted to get on with some knitting this week however it has been so hot!

I did however go into London on Friday with my boyfriend. We went to the Sally Mann Exhibition at the Photographers Gallery and the British Art Now Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery. I really enjoyed both and hopefully I should be able to get lots of ideas from them for my final year.

I love the composition and dreamy quality of Sally Mann's Photography. The Exhibition only featured black and white images but whilst browsing through a book of her work in the shop I saw some colour work as well.

I love going to exhibitions where there are multiple artists. You never know what you are going to see from room to room. I love these works in particular but it was a really interesting and inspiring exhibition all together.

busy busy busy

This week has been a week of knitting!

I first thought I would update on my blanket...

It is getting big! It is starting to get too heavy for the needles so I may need to change to some metal ones for added strength.

I love all the colours together though

I also thought I would start to knit in the round more often. For some reason I had a phobia of double pointed needles and it is pretty tricky to begin with but now I get the idea I really love knitting this way.

I decided to test my skills by making a simple pair of socks for Fathers Day. I hope he likes them!

I have loved all the flower headbands that are in the shops at the moment but think they are over priced and not the best quality so I decided to make one myself! I love it :)

I love having the time to be crafty and really get back into knitting although I am slowly get more and more obsessed again!!!

my first spinning!

After being inspired by all the beautiful handspun yarns on ravelry that i thought i would give it a go myself!

I bought a drop spindle and gave it a go this morning. It isnt perfect but I love it all the same. I think this is a going to be a growing obsession!

Blanket update!

well the blanket is steadily growing and is now nearly 60cms long! However I'm worried that I am going to run out of wool! So although this project was going to be a stash buster project I have had to buy more balls so I can get to the desired length of 2.5meters! I love how it is turning out though :)

pictures to follow soon!
