London Fashion Week Day 1

I am going to post my thoughts about LFW a day behind so I can get the most info available.

Friday saw the likes of PPQ, Felder Felder, Bora Aksu and Paul Costello take to the catwalk. I was hoping for brights and pattern and PPQ certainly gave me that.

I love brights mixed with black and the print and design of this dress in particular is stunning although I'm not sure about the fez styling...

I love texture in clothing whether it be naturally occurring in the fabric itself or if its a man made manipulation. My favorite has to be from new comer Hannah Marshall. The folds and pleats in the dove grey fabric are sophisticated yet edgy at the same time.

Felder Felder chose to showcase small slashes on otherwise plain jackets in bright pinks and blues. It reminded me of old school cowboy fringed jackets - in a good way!

Nearly every outfit in the Sass and Bide show featured highly fringed Elizabethan style collars. My favourite outfit also included a gorgeous beaded capelet which I think would be gorgeous worn day or night.

Although I love every aspect of fashion I love it even more when a garment has some functionality. This dress/top is exactly the sort of thing I love. The simple shape means it could be worn is lots of different ways and the large shaped pockets on the front would be a great place to keep a mobile or lipgloss!
