Happy New Year

Image borrowed from here

Hello Lovelies,

Just a quick note to say I am still here! The last few months have been ridiculously hectic with life in general and the shop and I ended up having no time, inspiration or energy to devote to this little old blog. I have however really missed it is going to one of my New Year's Resolutions to post more.

So for the meantime I hope you all had a great 2012 but hope you have an even better 2013 :)

Happy New Year :

Hello Lovelies,

Here is the final post about my new flat. I hope you have liked all the pictures so far :)

Today I will be sharing images of the bedrooms. My favourite pieces of furniture are the wardrobes and dressing table in our bedroom. We got them for £30 from eBay and I love how they look with our other furniture.

Home Sweet Home Part 1

Hello Lovelies,

I thought that I should show you some pictures of my new flat as it seems to be taking up all my blogging time recently!!

I have split it in to 3 sections to save overloading this post of lots of pictures. Today I will be sharing pictures of my favourite room - the Studio.

We have been really lucky to be able to find such a spacious flat where we have 2 spare bedrooms so decided the best use for the slightly small one was to turn it in to a studio/office space. I still need to put up some pictures but I am really pleased with it so far :)

What do you think? Do you have a studio space? I would love to see some as I still need a bit of inspiration in making my space pretty!

Chocolate Cookies

Hello Lovelies,

Since moving I have been dying to start baking again - my obsession with GBBO and baking books is getting a bit out of hand...

Today I decided to create one of my favourite recipes with ingredients I always have in the cupboard - Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients

100g Light Brown Sugar
100g Caster Sugar
100g Butter
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
225g Flour
1 small bar Dairy Milk - chopped
1 small bag Milky Buttons
1 small Caramac - chopped

Method

1. Mix together the sugar and butter
2. Add the egg, vanilla and flour and mix
3. Add all the chocolate and fold together
4. Spoon the mixture onto a baking tray and cook in the 200°C preheated oven for about 10 mins until they are lightly golden. They will seem very soft and squishy but they crispen up as they cool

DIY Recycled Jumper Bunting and an Apology

Hello Lovelies,

Well I can't quite believe that I last posted about a month and a half ago - Sorry! I have been ridiculously busy as I finished so freelance work, went on holiday and most recently have moved from Buckinghamshire down to the South Coast! We are pretty much settled into our new home now after being here just over a week and I am loving being able to dedicate a room to my crafting :) I will hopefully be able to post some pictures soon!

Since we decided me were moving I have been constantly thinking about furniture and decorating although being on a pretty much non-existent budget has hampered some of my ambitions. I soon realised that my studio just wasn't pretty enough and the only way that could be solved was with bunting.

I found an old cushion I had really badly made when I was about 12 from one of my favourite woollen jumpers that my Dad had felted in the washing machine... and thought it would make some really cute bunting with the added bonus of not having to worry about the fabric fraying which is a win-win in my eyes.

The Finished Product
You will need: Old Felted Jumper, Ribbon, Cotton Thread and Scissors
Cut out as many triangles as you like using a simple template
 Pretty!
Pin the triangles evening on your ribbon and sew!

I love my new bunting! What do you think?

Crafty Creatives Box 2

Hello Lovelies :)

I was very happy when I heard I had a parcel and that it was my second Craft Creatives box! After the joy of the first one I was both excited and apprehensive for the second box - what would be in the next box? would it live up to the first one?

I shouldn't have been worried as it is better than I could have imagined! This months box is based on a nautical theme. I am so excited to get crafting :)

I think my favourite items in the box are the little fish beads and the nautical pages. I am not sure what to do with them yet but I am sure I will think of something!

Have you subscribed to Crafty Creatives yet?

Birds Flying High, You Know How I Feel

Hello Lovelies,

Sorry the ol' blog has been a bit quiet lately I have had lots of exciting/scary news over the past week and a half and so have been a tad stressed. Hopefully next week things will be back to normal and I can share everything that has happened recentely.

I thought I would share with you a very speedy DIY I completed today. At the moment my funds are very low so buying new clothes has definitely not been allowed so I have decided to go through my wardrobe and try and create something new. The first simple DIY I have tried to turning a dress into a skirt. The dress I picked was this cute Primark number. I wore it lots and lots when I bought it however as with all Primark jersey it eventually shrunk making it too short to wear.

All I did to create a more wearable skirt was chop off the top just under the armhole. Measure some wide elastic around my waist, pin onto the dress and fold over the top to create a tube. I quickly sewed round making sure not to catch the elastic in the seam and it was finished!

I love this length of the skirt not and it is a much better fit :)

Have you tried any speedy DIY's recentely?
