Blue Valentine - Folksy Finds

The lovely people over at Folksy asked there Facebook fans to curate an 18 piece collection based on the theme of 'Handmade Love'. I love Valentines day but really hate all the tacky and overly pink and fluffy things that tend to circulate this time of year. Instead I decided to focus on blue. I really enjoyed putting this list together so this may become a regular feature on le blog!

Livin Cool

After graduating last year I have been lucky enough to been contacted by various stylists, magazines and photographers wanting to borrow my collection for photoshoots and videos. Unfortunately sometimes these shoots don't work out and I end up not getting any photos at all.

I recently found a photoshoot in Livin Cool magazine that was done last November. I really love it!

What do you think?

Let there be order Part 2!

Here is part 2 of my new storage/organisation obsession! A few weeks ago I was browsing Debenhams and came across these stackable jewellery boxes that had been reduced from £20 to £6 each! After a lot of umming and ahhing I bought two with the initial idea of organising my make up into it. However as I decided to reuse my old beauty boxes for my make up I decided to go through all my jewellery and hair things.

Going through all my stuff made me realise that I will never have to buy another hair band or grip again!!

Earrings, Rings and Brooches

Hair Bands!!!!!

Hair Clips and Bracelets

Nail Varnishes

I have also bought a pretty necklace holder that get mounted to the wall but the boy has yet to drill the holes!!

What do you think? Do you have any nifty jewellery organising ideas?

Let there be order Part 1!

I have been itching to get organised recently. Every time I open my bedside drawers it takes me about half an hour to find what I want. I also have a very bad habit of as soon as something goes in the drawer I forget I have it and end up buying very similar products whenever I pop to Boots.

As I have recently got my third Feel Unique Beauty Box I decided it was time to start recycle the boxes. I love the fact that they are perfect little drawers so I just stacked them up and sorted my make up into each drawer. It made me realise that I don't actually have that much so I am thinking a little cosmetics haul coming after pay day....

So here is my little collection of make up - when I get my next box in February I am going to separate my lip and face make up but for now it is ok!

Tomorrow I will post about my amazing bargain jewellery boxes that I bought in the Debenhams sale!

Have you felt the need to get organised? Any tips I should know?

The Fox and the Hound

Coat - Miss Behave Vintage Jeans - Primark Fur Scarf - New Look Hat - Internacionale Fox Bag - Ebay Boots - Ugg (!) Skull Ring - Matalan Fox Ring - Polka Dot Dreams

On Sunday morning the boy and I took Bramble for a walk down by the canal. I love going for nice long walks at the weekend, especially when its a lovely bright and sunny day. It was pretty chilly to begin with so I wrapped up in my new hat from Internacionale which cost me a whole £1.30! I am also wearing the fox double ring that is available from my Polka Dot Dreams shop. I have found double finger rings to be really uncomfortable in the past however as there ones are really soft they are comfy to wear all day long.

I have been working on some new items for the shop including a fox necklace that can also be worn as a brooch. I am hoping to have a couple of weeks off work soon so I can concentrate purely on the shop. I would really appreciate any feedback on what I design and make so I can expand the line in the correct places!

I finally received my January Feel Unique Beauty box after it sitting at the Post Office for nearly a week so hopefully I will be able to do a review on that in the next couple of days. I also bought some brilliant jewellery storage from Debenhams in the sale so will be showing you my ever expanding but newly organised collection!!

Day Zero List

After my birthday when I turned the dreaded 25 or as my boyfriend so lovingly put it 'you  would be in the overs category on x factor' I had a little bit of mid-twenties crisis. After
taking 2 years out before Uni and then enrolling on a 4 year course I am quite far behind
in my ideal life plan. I feel like I haven't really accomplished much and as such had an

be able to keep referring to it and crossing things off!

Be Gentle

Cardigan - Primark Blouse - New Look Jeans - Primark Belt - Accessorize Wolf and Tree Ring - Asos Skull Ring - Matalan

Well here we are my first ever outfit post! This is actually what I wore yesterday as today I am very much full of flu so have wrapped up in leggings and a Christmas jumper :(

I bought this yellow cardigan with some of my Christmas money and I have pretty much worn it every day since. It is so soft and snuggly and a lovely bright yellow colour that brings me hopes of Spring. I bought this blouse ages ago but I still love the dusky pink colour and deep peter pan collar - it used to have a giant pussy bow on the front but I removed it as it looked too fussy. I have been looking for a pair of dark jeans for years. They either fit me nicely in the leg and are huge on the waist or the fit me in the waist but not in the leg. The last place I thought I would find them is Primark but at £10 I had to try them - and they are perfect!

keep your head up, keep your heart strong

Well I definitely jumped on the 'first post of 2012' bandwagon a little bit late but here we go!

I am hoping to make this year my year. I have had lots of hopes and dreams since graduating last year but haven't had the necessary funds/motivation/confidence to dedicate to them. I have decided that I can only succeed if I commit the right amount of time and energy to my plans so I am trying to come up with a way that I can reduce the amount of hours I work whilst still being able to afford to live! It is tricky!

I have lots of posts lined up this week including my 101 things to do in 1001 days, my first ever outfit post *eeeppp*, some crafty DIY action and some updates to my shop Polka Dot Dreams.

How has 2012 been to you so far? Have you any exciting plans for this year?

I will leave you with this song which has been a great inspiration to me when I have been feeling down.
