Friday Favorites

Hey Lovelies,

It seems like once a month I try to set up a weekly feature on the ol' blog. I am still hoping to pick up Sunday Reading again as soon as I actually have time to read anything other than job descriptions and my CV over and over again! Ever since joining Etsy earlier this week I have become a little bit obsessed. There is an  abundance of amaxing handmade items, supplies and vintage bits that I could do this feature every day until I'm 80 and I still wouldn't have scratched the surface.

Today I have chosen some of favourite things. let me know what you think!

This Peace Bear Necklace

This Giant Floor Cushion

This Aztec Style Beaded Ring

This Geometric Wooden Bear Brooch

What do think of my Etsy finds? Have you found anything amazing?

Ginger Pickle Giveaway

Wahoo! I won another giveaway! This time it was hosted by the lovely Jade from Ginger Pickle. If you haven't heard of Ginger Pickle yet you should jump over and have a look as soon as you have finished reading this post. Ginger Pickle is an online boutique that stocks some amazing gems from British designers and makers. The website is full of beautiful jewellery, accessories and homewear and would the perfect place to buy unique gifts for friends, family or yourself (heehee!).

Now onto the prize! The competition was held on twitter and I was lucky enough to win the prize of an aluminium lightening bolt bracelet. I didn't know what to expect from the parcel but it surpassed all my expectations and came beautifully wrapped with a lovely little handwritten note from Jade <3

Now the pictures!

I would like to thank Jade for the beautiful prize and I urge you all to pop over and support a budding business woman in the making :)

What do you think of the bracelet? Have you been lucky enough to win anything lately?

Make Up Bargains

I cannot resist a bargain. I love nothing more than trailing round a car boot sale with a burger van bacon sandwich and you will often find me perusing rails in a charity shop looking for hidden treasure (I haven't found it yet but I am still hopeful!). My other obsession is eBay and I could spend hours browsing the clothing and home categories for beautiful one-offs that never cost me more than £5.

After turning 25 last November I decided it was time to learn about make up! I love eye make up and wear mascara and pretty eye liner on a daily basis but I have never worn foundation and I'm not entirely sure what to do with powder...

So in my quest for affordable make up to play with I stumbled across the motherload at Poundland of all places! I have seen the cheap branded make up in there before but have only ever seen lime green nail varnish (why??) and cheap looking orange lipsticks. However this time I could easily have come away with a whole new make up collection although I stopped at 3 items :)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush and Highlighter in Winter Glow - £1

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Barracuda - £1

CoverGirl TruShine Lipstick in Hot Pink Shine - £1

My dad also gave me a £5 No7 voucher and I spent ages looking through all the skin care and make up products on offer and in the end I choose a lipstick from the limited edition Vital Brights range. I was a little disappointed that the actual lipstick case wasn't patterned like the box but I love the nude shimmery colour so much that it makes up for it!

No7 Vital Brights Lipstick in Blossoming Pink - £10 £5 with voucher

Have you bought any new make up recentely? Have you bought any bargains from an unexpected place?

Sunday Evening Update

Hey Lovelies,

Once again I find myself in the position of giving a reason as to why I havent blogged for a while. If you follow me on twitter you may have seen that the friend we lived with sent my boyfriend an email saying that he was selling the flat and that he wanted us to move out asap :(. Obviously this threw a massive spanner in the works as we have been lucky enough to be paying mates rates for the rent and are definitely not in a position to be paying proper London prices due to the boy studying a Masters and me earning pittance. So before I knew it we were packing up and moving back with the Boys parents....

At 25 this was not my idea of fun. We have been independent and lived alone for the last 4 and a half years whilst at Uni - only going home for a week over Christmas - so having to move felt like a massive step backwards. One hectic week later we are finally all unpacked and settled and it seems to be going quite well so far. One of the biggest upsides to the move is being able to have my own little studio! Above the detached garage the boys parents have a massive room that was mainly used for storing random stuff and as a gym but I have been lucky enough to empty out one end of the room to convert into my own crafty den. I am so excited I have pretty much been up there every day working on new things for Polka Dot Dreams and a new design project for my portfolio.

*Please excuse the numerous photos that now follow!!*

I am going to put some postcards and pictures on the wall and am on the look out for a cheap bookcase so I can store all my craft and fashion books up there but at the moment it is perfect!

What do you think of my new area? Do you have a space to call your own?

I also thought I would leave with a cute little GIF I made of little Bramble!
