My Day in London plus Nails of the Day

Hello Lovelies,

Yesterday I had a very long and tiring day in London due to having appointments at either end of the day and nothing to do in between. I ended having an explore and wander around some of my favourite parts of London.

I started out in Covent Garden and stumbled across a really cute bead shop called Beadworks. I could have spent a fortune but I only bought a few bits that I needed, although I did buy this cute little guy just because he was so cute!

My second appointment was over in Shepherds Bush so I decided to head over a little early so I could have a browse around Westfield. I wasn't intending to buy anything but then I remembered the Models Own Bottle Shop... They have a special deal at the moment if you buy 3 or 6 bottles of polish you get their current best seller, which is the Hed Kandi Ibiza Mix, for free! Well I could never pass up free glitter so I gave in and got a three pack.

I chose Peaches & Cream, Lemon Meringue Pie and Purple Blue Bettlejuice.

I can't wait to try out all three, especially the pastel orange and yellow but I had to try the Ibiza Mix. I used Rimmel 60 Second Sky High as a base coat and then dabbed on the Ibiza Mix so I could get a good mixture of the dots and hexagon glitters. I then decided to use my Rimmel Matte Top Coat and I love the effect it has given. Its mush more subtle so perfect for day time. What do you think?

My last little treat to myself was 2 jumbo eye crayons from L.A. Colors. I loved the colours and shimmer and the fact that they were only 99p each made it all the better. The gold is really vibrant and strong with a good amount of shimmer but my favourite is the white/blue pencil. The picture doesn't really show the colour very well but it is almost a clear base with blue/purple sparkles in it. I imagine it would glow under ultraviolet light!

What do you think of my little treats?

GFW UCA Epsom

Just a quick not to say how proud I am that my little Uni had 3 out of the 10 finalists in the Graduate Fashion Week Gold Award. I had the best time at University and it set me up to be really successful in whatever I choose to do :)

Handmade Leather Journal

Just a little note to show you this scalloped leather journal I made yesterday. I am really pleased with it and can't wait to start using it for all my hopes, dreams and blog/shop ideas :)

I am contemplating making some for the shop. Would you buy a handmade journal?

If I had £75 to blow at River Island

Welcome to a new feature of the blog. Each week I will take my favourite high street stores and create outfits that total no more than £75. A lot of bloggers have done these sorts of features in the past but I thought I would do my take on it :)

This week my chosen store is River Island

  Shirt - Skirt - Bag

Recently I have started to love River Island. I used to go in and despair at the amount of random extras that they put on an otherwise lovely t-shirt, think chains, glitter, cut out back, crystals..... However everytime I visit my local store I find rail after rail of beautiful, feminine and affordable clothing.

- The chambray shirt is such a pretty shade of cornflower blue. I love the swing shape that would look great over leggings or skinnies, but also suits being tucked in. It also features a pretty lace insert on the back which in my eyes makes this the perfect shirt.

- I need this skirt in my life now! I have a teeny tiny obsession with anything featuring an animal, be that jewellery, accessories or clothing, so this flamingo print is just begging to be added to my collection.

- I love the feel of suede and this pink envelope style clutch is the perfect shade of pink to bring out the flamingo pattern on the skirt. It also is a good size so would be useful too :)

What do you think of this outfit? Have you bought anything from River Island recently?

Sunday Reading - Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache

Welcome to Sunday Book Corner :)

This week I have mainly be reading baking books as I had the sudden urge to bake. I wanted to make something a little different so I headed straight to Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache by Harry Eastwood. The book aims to create 'natural cakes that taste naughty' and that is does! Every recipe has been adapted to include a different vegetable. I love the look of pretty much every recipe in the book but so far have only made the Orange and Rosemary Drizzle Cake which I don't have a picture of because it was too damn tasty!

I would highly recommend this book for any baking enthusiasts as it is full of well written, interesting and tasty treats, whilst also being a beautiful book to peruse over a cup of tea and a biscuit. You can find it here for a bargain price of £12.16!

Have you seen any good baking books lately?

The One Where I Get a Pair of Charlotte Olympia Heels....

Disclaimer
I would like to apologise for the ridiculous amount of photos of shoe boxes and shoes but I am a little bit in love with my new heels!

A few weeks ago I told the Boys parents about a crazy pair of Charlotte Olympia shoes that I loved. They were completely ridiculous and impractical but the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen! I had tried them on and fell in love as they were the most comfy 5inch heels I had ever worn. Then a couple of weeks ago my Mum-in-law-to-be asked if they were still for sale. She then said that they wanted to buy my them as I have been working so hard and trying not to let rejection after no response get me down. My jaw pretty much hit the floor and at first I didn't want them as they were so expensive and frivolous, but after trying them on again I decided to go for it.

Here are a ridiculous amount of pictures featuring my new babies!

I have literally no idea when or where to wear them, in fact I am a little worried to wear them anywhere other than around my bedroom but I am so appreciative that the Boys parents felt I deserved them as a gift :)

What do you think? Have you ever received a completely impractical but amazing gift?
