Sewing the Blues Away

Hey Lovelies,

I haven't been having the best couple of days so today I decided to take the day off and get on with some sewing projects to try and help me feel better. I finally made the cushion out of the embroidered tea towel I found in this post and I love it!

I used some cornflower blue linen for the backing fabric and some sky blue pom pom trim to decorate the outside. I also found 3 vintage silver buttons to use to close the cushion up with.

What do you think? Have you completed any sewing project lately?

Crafty Creatives Box 1 :)

Hello Lovelies,

Today was the day the first Crafty Creatives box got delivered! I have been waiting for the box for months since I first found out about the exciting launch of Crafty Creatives. If you don't know about the box yet it basically is similar to a beauty box however it is filled with amazing floral crafty goodness.

I had somehow managed to dodge all the instagram pictures and blog posts about the contents of the first box so it was a complete suprise when I opened it up - and I was not disappointed at all!

 14 (yes 14!!!) different items :-O

 All the pretty crafty bits

I literally could not be happier with the first box. It is such good value for money at only £10 plus p+p and I am a frantically trying to come up with exciting projects to make with this months goodies.

Have a little look at the Crafty Creatives Website for more details :)

Have you ordered a Crafty Creatives box?

Cross Stitch is Addictive

Just a little note to show you what has been keeping me away from the blog recentely! I bought this cross stitch kit ages ago and while sorting out all my crafty things I found it again. I had only completed one of the cupcakes so I decided I wanted to try and finish it off. I have now decided this was a bad idea as I have loads of things I need to get on with but I it is just so addictive I end up just doing one more row...and then another and another.. Ah well its pretty so I don't mind!

What do you think? Have you been getting distracted by a craft project recently?

Charity Shop Finds #1

Hello Lovelies,

Firstly a couple of church notices! I am having a sale on my Etsy shop at minute to try and cheer everyone up after the terrible weather we are having so if you enter the code RAINYDAY you will get 20% off your order :). Secondly I am trying to raise some funds so if you check out my Blog Sale here I would be forever in your debt!

Yesterday I went to my local town parade with my Mum. Its theme was 'Countries of the World' and there were so many cute little kids all dressed up in various national costumes *bless*. While we were in town I thought it would be rude not to pop into the charity shops... and I ended up coming away with two gems!

In one of favourite charity shops there was a massive basket filled with the most beautiful fabric. I could literally have bought everything thing but considering I have the fabric bursting out boxes in my studio I tried to restrain myself. However I couldn't leave this beauty behind! It is 5 meters (I still can't quite believe its that much!) of hand woven fabric - all for the teeny tiny price of £5!!! I still can't believe how cheap it was. I am not sure what to make with it (truth be told I am a little bit scared of cutting into and ruining it...) but I was contemplating something along the lines of a kimono style jacket. What do you think?

My second little gem was found folded up at the bottom of the same basket (yes I did empty the whole basket onto the floor!). It is the most adorable hand embroided tea towel featuring a map of the UK. It is so cute I can't quite get my head around it and it was only £1.50. I was going to just frame it but I decided instead to turn it into a big cushion for our sofa when we move house in September. Do you think it cute or random?

What do you think of my bargains?
